Ingredients:
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1/2 cup of cornmeal
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
3/4 cup of water
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
Add the water and vegetable oil to the dry ingredients and mix until a smooth dough forms.
On a floured surface, knead the dough for 1-2 minutes until it becomes elastic.
Divide the dough into 10-12 equal portions and shape each portion into a small oblong dumpling.
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F.
Carefully add the dumplings to the hot oil and fry until golden brown, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking.
Remove the dumplings from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain off any excess oil.
Serve the festival warm as a side dish with your favorite Jamaican meal.
Enjoy your homemade Jamaican festival!
Love you guys, @ForknFly
